What's this? After 11 pm? I've been up how long? 16 hours? No. Can't be.

What I did today: watched Persuasion, Howard's End, The Fisher King, Election, & Muriel's Wedding; made two books; ate soup.

What I did not do today: bathe, buy trash bags, rid myself of the overflowing trash heaps everywhere, pay bills, go to the lake, get dressed, put one toe out of doors, call Blythe, think about planning class, buy cat food (shit), call Bathsheba to offer my meager assistance in packing, use any parts of my brain. I am, therefore, rotty and moldy and damp and irritated.

I am so very glad tomorrow is Labor Day.

I wish I had some pie.
